Step Up, Speak Out — when a theme becomes the evening
On Wednesday, 1 July 2026, the Kölner Sprechbar held an English-language club evening under the theme Step Up, Speak Out — and the motto quickly became the story of the night itself. A few last-minute changes to the agenda were no obstacle: every member and guest stepped up, embraced the unexpected and helped create a smooth, engaging and memorable evening at the Cologne Toastmasters club.
Flexibility, teamwork and XXL Table Topics
The Kölner Sprechbar is a place to practise public speaking in Cologne within a supportive community — and this evening showed exactly why. Members and guests took on roles, delivered prepared speeches and jumped into the XXL Table Topics format, where impromptu talks run a challenging three to five minutes. Every contribution, from the main speeches to the many supporting roles, made a difference — and that is what makes the club so special.
