On Wednesday, we examined our personal connection with Kölner Sprechbar. What are our favorite roles in a Toastmasters evening? What are the roles that challenge us most?
Guest Robert invited us to use his word of the evening: juice maker. Jakob strongly advised us to never move the screw on the drainpipe when it rains. Yannick told us a funny story about teachers and punishments.
Family reunion – What could go wrong? – Tilman spoke about planning a family meeting: He would apply his project management skills and use his superpower of making people feel good. And if the reunion still went wrong, Tilman would come up with creative solutions.
Driving a car or taking the bus or train? Let’s talk about it. Wolfram gave us an insight to his involvement in a local transport committee. He made us ponder the preferences of urban and rural communities and possible disadvantages of public transport.
Table topics master Sarah invited four spontaneous speakers to share their thoughts:During the last year, Enes discovered that he is of course capable of taking his own decisions. Anne-Kathrin found the keywords beach, food and balance to describe her last three months. If his life span was only 40 years, Ben would tell people more often that he loves them. Guest Bashar wants to play around less with his phone and instead use every second of the day.
Our evaluators Manuela, Nadji and Arnout provided valuable feedback and helpful advice for the speakers.
Anne-Kathrin challenged us with her quiz questions, guest Thomas was our grammarian and Yannick counted our filler words. Enes supported the speakers as timekeeper, Svenja collected the votes and Manuela operated the camera.
The evening also served as a test run for the reusable agenda provided by Sarah, our Sergeant at Arms.
Wishing you all a good start in the new week.
